It doesn’t matter how you are treated, all that matters is how you respond.

THIS BLEW MY MIND!!

Okay. there's something i received while praying. They're illustrations actually. Simple but very true.
Illustration 1 : Football match
I was praying upon the verse which says that many are called but FEW are chosen. Isn't it very interesting how 100,000 people can willingly pay 120bucks to watch 22 men fight for a ball? I call these the "church goers". Just that in church, admission is FREE but yet it is still a hassle for some to come. Basically, "church goers" don't accomplish much for God as they're either there just because it is only right or because they're just excited because it's fun (like the 100,000 fans). They come for church week in and week out but they don't necessarily get blessed because the promises of God are conditional. They are fulfilling their duty as a believer. These are those the Bible calls "called". Everyone's called but remember, FEW ARE CHOSEN. So who are the chosen ones? - the 22 players on the pitch. These people train EVERYDAY and are made to perfect their roles of the game, be it in taking a freekick, passing, a corner kick or goalkeeping, they are there EVERYDAY to train and WORK. These are also the ones who ACCEPT the RESPONSIBILITY of fighting for the ball because of sheer PASSION. Notice the link now? But not only that, God NEVER shortchanges us. What we sow, He makes sure we will reap in abundance! These players can earn up to 120,000 pounds/week (almost SGD400000)!! Who do you want to be? a spectator in the crowd or a player who has to train, work, fight for what he's been chosen to do?
Illustration 2 : Sports trials
Okay here we go. The Bible PROMISES us trials in our lives. It promises the LIGHT at e end of every valley. But sadly, many choose to leave, forsake their calling and give up on God's promises. Here's something which might help. I would say EVERY professional athelete will have to go through a SERIES OF TRIALS before being selected by the team/club/country. Perfectly logical isn't it? Notice they don't ever complain about the trials they have to be put through? Why then do Christians, with God on our side complain and even get bitter? It shouldn't be that way. These atheletes are put through trials which they have to pass in order to represent their respective teams. Similarly, God puts us in trials to change, build, strengthen, enlarge and equip us so that we can PASS and get into His team! I laughed when i realized this - no wonder the Bible calls them TRIALS. Let this encourage you - You only go through trials because you have been selected as a POTENTIAL CANDIDATE to represent God! So be happy and of good cheer if you're going through one! You're gonna PASS and step straight into God's team!! The choice is yours - to be the many who are called or the FEW who are chosen. =)
